Please note that the Lake Kaniere Power Boat Club has a long history at the lake and is a key part of the community. It holds regular events at the lake as listed below. These usually include closing off parts of the lake for the safety of competitors and the public. The closures are approved by Maritime New Zealand as detailed in this document 05-TME-24 LKYPBC - Letter of grant for 2024-25 club days and regatta - 25092024
